The History of CapaCiTi

2010: CapaCiTi Established

CapaCiTi was established as a digital skills accelerator by CiTi, South Africa's first technology startup incubator. It aimed to bridge the digital skills gap and empower youth in the tech industry.

2018: Expansion Nationwide

Recognizing the need for wider impact, CapaCiTi expanded its programs to support youth across South Africa and on a Pan-African scale.

2019–2021: Thousands of Opportunities Created

Over 3,500 work opportunities were created in the digital economy for South African youth, solidifying CapaCiTi as a leading digital skills accelerator.

2024: Tech Career Accelerator Launched

CapaCiTi launched a tech career accelerator in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, empowering local businesses and youth with advanced digital skills training.
